The Modest Proposal

In the 18th century, the rather wonderful Jonathan Swift wrote the satire, 'A Modest Proposal', in which he encouraged that children become a source of both food and income, to solve the woes of Ireland's poor.

I present to you a modest proposal of my own:

The Modest Proposal:


To preserve the permanent eradication of criminal elements and contain disorder in society, arising from the holding of dangerous views, amongst the publick:


Being unequivocally concerned about the growing sense of moral abundance, which stands to inflict untold harm on ideological reform agendas up and down the country; being rendered almost drunk by the intoxicating sense and sensibilities of outrage, writhing upwards from the masses via the stench ridden alleyway of social media; being agile enough of mind, will and upbringing to see that, for the good of all, some control must be returned to the higher bands of our great land: I take my stand as a candidate for the role of Police and Crime Commissioner...
